MLK Day – January 20, 2025
“A Morning of Service and Fun”
9:00 am-12:00 noon
Location: Thriven Design, 756 Haddon Avenue, Collingswood
Organized By: Kiwanis Club of the Haddons
***A variety of fun projects for all ages****
We are collecting:
Personal hygiene items for youth in homeless shelters – full sized shampoo, conditioner, body wash (NOT BAR SOAP), washcloth, towel, toothbrush, toothpaste, Chapstick
NEW children’s pajamas for the Pajama Program
Pet foods and other items for local pet shelters – beach towels, pillow cases, puppy pee pads
New or gently used children’s books for BookSmiles
Birthday kits in a box (boxed cake mix, cake icing, table cover, party horns, napkins, streamer, colorful plasticware)
***Creative hands-on service activities***
(Supplies will be provided except where noted)
Create 100 Valentine’s cards to senior citizens for delivery to local senior residences
Create 50 Love letters for literacy – alphabet flash cards for local pre-schools
Make 150 sandwiches for homeless people served by Cathedral Kitchen and Beacon of Hope
Make Birthday-party-in-a-box kits for children in group homes and shelters coordinated by the Unforgotten Haven in Blackwood. (supplies needed)
Create small backpack Welcome Bags for youth in homeless shelters (supplies needed)
Tie four no-sew blankets for individuals coordinated by the Unforgotten Haven in Blackwood.
