Food Pantry

The Borough of Barrington operates a food pantry to support residents in need. There are two options available:

  • Little Free Pantry: Open 24/7 and located outside the Deere Field Clubhouse on Clements Bridge Road.

If you or your family are experiencing food insecurity and would like to request assistance, please contact Mayor Kyle Hanson at mayor@barringtonboro.com or call 856-547-0706.

SNAP benefits set to be suspended due to shutdown

10/29/25

This week, New Jersey was notified by the Trump administration that if the shutdown continues, November 2025 SNAP benefits will not be available on November 1.

Key information for our residents who receive SNAP benefits:

  • As of October 28, November allotments will not be issued on November 1, 2025.
  • SNAP benefits loaded on your Families First EBT card prior to October 31, 2025, will be available for you to use after November 1, 2025.
  • SNAP recipients are encouraged to utilize the Families First portal to check their available balances before going to the grocery store.

According to the New Jersey Department of Human Services, SNAP helps more than 800,000 New Jerseyans across 400,000 households afford nutritious food. Almost half are children, nearly 1 in 3 are individuals with a disability, and 1 in 5 are senior citizens. In Camden County, approximately 75,000 residents currently receive SNAP benefits.

If you or someone you know is in need of food assistance, please visit www.camdencounty.com/service/community-development/food-insecurity/ for resources.

The Food Bank of South Jersey provides food assistance throughout Southern New Jersey through supporting local food pantries and direct distributions. In 2024 alone, the Food Bank of South Jersey distributed 24 million pounds of food to those in need. To learn more about the Food Bank of South Jersey please visit https://foodbanksj.org/
