The Registrar’s office is located in the Mayor’s Office at the Borough Municipal Building, 229 Trenton Avenue.

The Registrar’s office handles vital statistics. These services include:

  • Applying for a Marriage License (call to schedule appointment)
  • Obtaining Certified Copies of Birth, Death and Marriage Records (No information is given over the phone. You must walk in to the office obtain these records.)
  • Domestic Partnership

REGISTRAR OFFICE HOURS:

Appointment hours are:

  • Monday and Wednesday between 9am-3pm
  • Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 9-11 a.m.

Phone number to call to set an appointment is (856) 547-1930.  Applications for a CERTIFIED COPY will be the same hours as above. It is always best to call ahead to be sure the Registrar is in the office.

Certified Copy of Birth or Marriage Record: $10 each

Certified Copy of Death Certificate: First $25, each subsequent ordered at same time $2
Photo ID with current address and/or 2 pieces of mail with current address must be submitted with records request.

The marriage license needs to be applied for in the town in which the bride resides.

A Vital Record certified copy can be obtained from the city/town where the birth, marriage or death took place. If your event took place in Barrington, a certified copy of a Vital Statistics record may be requested through the Mayor’s Office. Proof of identity must be provided.

As long as your event occurred in New Jersey, records are also available from the NJ Department of Health and Senior Services, Vital Statistics, by calling 609-292-4087. Information is provided on the State of NJ web site www.state.nj.us/health .
